The Rovers Belles made three changes to their starting line up from last week's disappointing FA Cup exit to Cardiff. Caroline Collie, Amy Turner and Liz Hansen replacing Jess Horsley, Vanessa Leat and Veronica Cantoro respectively.

In windy conditions the Rovers Belles fell behind early on when SUSI turned home a right wing cross from White.

This seemed to get the visitors going and the Rovers Belles started to get a grip in the game.

The equaliser came direct from a Carla CANTRELL right wing corner that the Chelsea keeper Chamberlain failed to deal with.

The Rovers Belles took a deserved lead following an excellent move with skipper Exley releasing top scorer Liz HANSEN who fired home left footed from a tight angle past the advancing Chamberlain.

Presh Hamilton nearly made it 3-1 with a right footed angled strike that cannoned back off the bar.

A free kick wide on the left saw the Rovers Belles extend their lead when Cantrell whipped in a terrific right footed inswinging ball that found EXLEY who guided it home.

In to the second half and Chelsea began to pile on the pressure as they looked to get back in to the game.

Heckler was next to test the Chelsea keeper when she flew past Stoney to hit a low right footed shot that saw Chamberlain save well low down to her right.

Chelsea came fighting back and made it 3-2 when SUSI scored her second from 8 yards following a half cleared free kick.

The Rovers Belles then lost goalkeeper Caroline Collie to an ankle injury which saw young Jess Horsley replace her.

HANSEN made it 4-2 when Stevens sent Cantrell away down the right wing, her cross picked out Exley who set it back for the Canadian striker to slot home left footed from 10 yards.

Chelsea again responded and grabbed a consolation goal right on full time when SMITH scored from close range.

This was an excellent performance and result for the Rovers Belles who move up in to eighth place in the table.
