Sven Goran-Eriksson is coming to the Keepmoat Stadium! Doncaster Rovers can today confirm that the pre-season friendly against Premier League side Manchester City is on - and it will be Sven's first ever game in charge of his new club.

The game promises to be a game of massive interest, with the game the first ever opportunity for Rovers and City fans to see the new Manchester City manager in action! As a result, chairman John Ryan has reduced the tickets to the flat rate of £10 for adults and £5 for concessions - so that everyone can afford to see this landmark match.

Sven Goran-Eriksson has been out of football since he resigned from the England national side in 2006 after the World Cup, where the team reached the quarter-final before being knocked out by Portugal. Eriksson had been manager of the England national side since 2001, changing the fortunes of the side dramatically. In his early days as manager, Sven masterminded the unforgettable 5-1 demolition of Germany in Munich. Eriksson has also been an incredibly successful manager in Italy, where the Swede won the Coppa Italia twice with Lazio in 1998 and 200. He also won the last ever European Cup Winner's Cup in 1999 and the Serie A title in 2000 - the only time the club have ever done so in their history.

In addition to this, Manchester City legend Mike Summerbee, who played a huge part in the successful City side of the 60s and early 70s, will be attending the game as a special guest to chairman John Ryan. Summerbee was also an England international, who made his debut in 1968 against Scotland.
