Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll was delighted with his team's 2-0 win over a tough Bristol Rovers side at Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Two penalties were the outlets for the goals, which were converted with confidence by the returning Paul Heffernan and stand-in skipper Brian Stock, who Sean admits was 'magnificent' in his midfield role throughout the encounter.

"Last weekend against Millwall, we played some really exciting football," Sean told Rovers World.

"This week, we went a different way. We were organised and disciplined and you have to be brave at times and I thought that we were. In some sense, this was a better win. They (Bristol Rovers) are unbeaten in 11 or 12 games; an archetypical away side and we edged them."

"I think that credit for the way that the penalties were dispatched should go to the scouts who watched the two games. They have logged certain aspects of when the 'keeper has saved them and when the 'keeper doesn't save them. That's the information that the players got and they knew what to do with the ball. Brian Stock's debut as a captain, I thought, was magnificent; and Paul (Heffernan) has looked sharp all week and as soon as the second penalty was given, I don't think there was ever going to be anybody else to take it or get the ball off of him. I'm pleased for both of them."
