Doncaster Rovers defender Adam Lockwood has signed a new two-year deal with the Club.

The centre-half was influential in the 2007-08 season, where the Rovers achieved promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship.

The 26 year-old made 44 appearances for the Rovers last term - netting two goals, missing the back end of the season with a foot injury picked up in the 1-0 home defeat to Leeds United.

Lockwood managed to regain fitness enough to feature in the League One Play-Off Final, where he lifted the trophy alongside the team captain for the game in Brian Stock.

With Lee released by the Rovers at the end of the season, Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll has hinted that Lockwood may be named as new permanent Club Captain.
