FORMER ROVER JOINS RIVALS
Former Doncaster Rovers defender Darren Moore has joined Barnsley on a two-year deal from relegated Premier League side Derby County.
The move will mean that the player - who played for Doncaster Rovers between 1995 and 1997 after making the move from first club Torquay United - will face his former side in two of the highly anticipated six South Yorkshire derbies in the Championship next term.
The 34-year old, who has played international football for Jamaica, became a firm favourite at Belle Vue amongst Rovers supporters. Joining the club for a fee of ?62,500, Moore established himself as an uncompromising centre half.
Moore left the Rovers to join Bradford City, helping them achieve promotion to the Premier League in 1999. The 6'4'' defender was offered the opportunity to re-join the Bantams last month, however in the end, the Valley Parade side decided to enlist the services of departed Rovers captain Graeme Lee.
