This weekend sees Sean O'Driscoll's Doncaster Rovers side travel to Cheshire to face a Crewe Alexandra side desperate for a win. For Steve Holland, Crewe's first team coach who has succeeded Dario Gradi, any win will do - with the Alex manager doing his research thoroughly on the Rovers. The man at the helm of the Railwaymen is desperate to get Crewe back on track - and has attended three Rovers games in preparation for Saturday afternoon's test.

"I've seen Doncaster now a few times this year," Holland told Crewe Alex World.

"They've got some great players and they have a clever way of playing that is unusual for this division. If you can't deal with that, then they are going to give you lots of problems. They are, without a doubt, the best team - between the two boxes - in the League. Their football is very well thought through, everybody knows what they are doing - and it's difficult to defend against. One thing's for sure; we will need to deal with them through midfield, which is a big part of their play, to have a chance in the game."

This season has already seen the Rovers confidently win a game over Crewe Alexandra, with the sides meeting at the Keepmoat Stadium earlier this season. Goals from Paul Heffernan and an own-goal from Crewe defender Danny Woodards sealed the three-points for the Rovers on the day, with Holland feeling that early missed chances for the Alex was responsible for their downfall.

"We had a lot of games against them last year with the Paint Trophy games and what have you; this year we would have played once against them. Although we didn't play particularly well against Doncaster, at 0-0 they didn't create that many chances. I remember Ryan Lowe having a great chance when he was one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The game against Yeovil that I watched on Sunday, Yeovil hadn't created any chances for 35 minutes - then somebody hits a shot from outside the box and it hits one of the defenders and spirals up over the goalkeeper and into the only space in the net it could have gone. Those little breaks always help you along your way. It will be a difficult game and we will need to focus on what we are doing."
