Paul Green has been a revelation for Doncaster Rovers for this season's campaign. The Rovers veteran has forced himself - not only back into the starting eleven - but virtually into the first name on the team sheet come Saturday afternoon.

Greeny has been placed all over the pitch since his return to the side, playing across the midfield and also slotting into defence. Monday's draw against Oldham saw Green fit back into midfield and admits that despite the draw against the Latics, preceded by defeats at Brighton and Yeovil, confidence is still massively high in the camp.

"The confidence is still very high. It is just a case of three bad games that we now need to put behind us. We've been on a good few runs, so we just need to keep on going and make sure that we get a good victory against Nottingham Forest on Friday evening."

"We've always come back when we have lost games and played really well in the following games. Friday's game can be an example of that; but even if we hadn't of suffered the slight dip that we have had in the last three games - we'd always get up for these big games. The next two games coming up are big games; they're the local derbies and Forest and Leeds are big clubs. If you can't get up for these games, what games can you get up for?"

So what does the midfielder - who turns 25 next month - think is the key to breaking down Friday evening's opponents in Forest?

"Personally, I think that you just need to take your chances when you get in the situations. If you take your chances, then you will hopefully get goals that will push you on for the win. Nottingham Forest will really get at us, because they are a great footballing team. It will be a very open game; they'll be at us and we'll be at them. It will be an end-to-end game and I think that everything will be very exciting come Friday evening."

"I think that we will be very good a breaking their play up, really. We'll get at their defence and get at their back four. If we do that, then I think that we will be coming out on top come the final whistle. Three points are important - it puts more space between us and Nottingham Forest. I think that they are currently six points behind us with a game in hand. If we beat them, then it is a guaranteed six points ahead of them. That will also be a step closer to Carlisle United and Swansea City also."

However, despite the preparation that Paul and the Rovers have undergone leading up to the big double-header, Greeny admits that a key responsibility lies with the Doncaster Rovers supporters.

"The home fans can become an extra man. If they get behind us, then the players will be buzzing and hopefully they will be on Friday evening. They were a little quiet on Monday against Oldham and I know that we have had a few bad runs, but the fans need to get behind us and they will be pivotal on Friday. We still definitely believe that we can get automatic promotion. We have seven games left and lots more points to play. Everybody in the camp believes that there is a chance because Carlisle and Swansea both have really tough games."
