WOODS EAGER TO MAKE IMPRESSION
Doncaster Rovers midfielder Martin Woods is looking forward to the forthcoming season, arguably a little more than the rest of his Rovers teammates.
The 22-year old signed for the Rovers back in the summer of 2007 and, despite the Scottish winger impressing in pre-season, failed to create shockwaves in League competition for Sean O'Driscoll's team.

The midfielder looks back at last season with a certain degree of disappointment and has sited why he struggled to break into the regular starting eleven to a number of things.
"Last season definitely didn't go the way that I would have liked," Woods told Rovers World in an exclusive interview.
"I let myself down last year. It just wasn't me; it wasn't me in the way that I performed. Maybe that was due to injuries and me not being fit by the time I got back. I could put it down to a number of things, but over the year I worked hard, worked very hard over the summer and I have come back a lot fitter and feel a lot stronger. I'm now looking forward to the year ahead."
Now that the previous season is far behind all connected with the Club, the focus is on the season ahead - an exciting venture into the world of the Coca-Cola Championship. It's a campaign that Woods is looking ahead to with a huge amount of enthusiasm. The former Sunderland man has competed at the top level, with nobody ever doubting his superb ability with a football - however, looking and feeling admittedly a lot fitter than last season, Woods is eager to become a force within the Rovers arsenal.
"The Championship is a step up and that's where you want to play your football. I said that last year when I signed, that the league I wanted to play in was the Championship. Having some interest from Championship clubs last summer, I was confident that we could make it there. Now that we have done it, everybody is just ready for the season to get started."
