Stephen joined Doncaster Rovers in the close season of 2005 from Wrexham, immediately winning over supporters with his reliable and assured defending in the centre of defence.
Towards the end of the 2005/2006 season, Roberts struck up a solid partnership with captain Graeme Lee in the heart of the back four - resulting in Rovers conceding very few goals as they chased a Play-Off place.
Stephen has been capped at under-21 level for Wales and is a classy defender who is good on the ball. However, Roberts missed a large chunk of the 2006/2007 season with a foot injury.
