Sean joined Doncaster Rovers in 2005 after arriving from the Leeds United Training Academy.
Born in Harrogate, McDaid never made a first team appearance for Leeds, however he played several games for their reserves before going for trials at Barnsley.
A left sided player, Sean can play both in defence and in midfield if needed and has represented Scotland in every level up to under-19.
McDaid was influential in the Rovers 2005/2006 season, proving a handful for opposing players in his position on the left of defence. At the end of that season Sean was named the Player's Player of the Year and the Doncaster Rovers Young Player of the Year.
Although starting the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Cardiff, McDaid missed part of the final furlong of the season through injury and will be looking to start the 2007/2008 season at full strength.
