James signed for Doncaster Rovers in the summer of 2006, after then manager Dave Penney believed that more manpower was needed to strengthen up the Rovers' back line.
O'Connor started his career at Aston Villa. He was then loaned out to Port Vale before a loan spell to the South Coast with Sean O'Driscoll's AFC Bournemouth side. The loan became a permanent deal in March 2005, where James established himself as a first-team regular - before his £130,000 move to Doncaster.
A reliable right-back, O'Connor also has the ability to build up an attack, with speeding runs down the flank and his long-throws making him a valuable asset to the Rovers' ranks.
