Gareth arrived at Rovers in the summer of 2006, where he came on a Bosman free transfer from Merseyside club Tranmere Rovers. Roberts made an amazing 300 appearances for the Prenton Park side, scoring twelve goals - an impressive tally for a left back.
Prior to joining Tranmere Rovers back in 1999, Gareth played abroad for Greek side Panionios where he joined after being a trainee at 5-time European champions Liverpool.
Roberts is a full Welsh international, who is a versatile left-sided player - comfortable as a defender and a winger.
Gareth scored his first goal for the Rovers in the final game of last season against Northampton Town - a quality strike with his left foot, just outside the box.
