SOPHIE HOPPER
The 24-year old midfield player signed from the American side Western Mass Pioneer's. Sophie who hails from West Yorkshire is back in the UK after having played for the last four years out in the states. During her time over there she was named NEC Women's Soccer Player of the Year in 2005 in a poll conducted by League head coaches. She was a three-time all NEC performer, including two first team accolades.
Sophie helped lead CCSU to its third title in four years after finishing league play with a perfect 9-0 record. She scored 12 of her 13 points (two goals, nine assists)against NEC opposition. In 2004 she played in 21 games as a midfielder, starting all of them where she recorded one goal and seven assists for nine points and was named to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association and Northeast Conference All-Conference second-Team's. In 2003 she appeared in 22 games, starting 17 and was the fourth leading scorer on the team with three goals and four assists. In 2002 she was named to the NEC All-Conference first-Team.
