Canadian striker Liz Hansen will resume her Belles career this month after a Doncaster estate agent answered the club's SOS.

Hansen travelled home for Christmas and the Doncaster Free Press revealed how neither Belles nor the player could afford her accommodation when she returned to Doncaster.

Boss John Buckley was planning for life without his top scorer after admitting that the departure of the eight-goal striker was inevitable.

That was until Barnsdales Estate Agents read about Hansen's plight and stepped in to save the day.

Now Hansen, along with Italian team-mate Veronica Cantoro, will move into a four-bedroom Town Moor house.

Buckley said:

"Barnsdales have offered us a house free of charge until the end of April."

"It is brilliant that they have helped us out."

"Liz has been important for us this season and we're glad to have her back for the rest of the campaign."

Hansen did not play in last week's FA Women's Cup win at Swindon and, although she is set to return to England this weekend, it is unlikely she will figure in Sunday's league trip to Blackburn.

Buckley is hoping to recall a number of players including Cantoro, who missed the cup game through illness, as Belles look to record their first double of the season.

A brace from Carla Cantrell, plus one from Hansen, helped Belles to a 3-0 success against their Lancashire rivals last month and a repeat victory could see them leap three places up the table.

Belles swept aside Swindon in a comfortable 5-0 fourth round win thanks to goals from Emily Heckler (2), Vicky Exley, Precious Hamilton and Cantrell.

They will now travel to Cardiff City in the fifth round.
