Doncaster Rovers Community Sports and Education Foundation, or Rovers in the Community as they are more commonly known, were handed a massive boost on Thursday morning in continuing the fantastic work that they do with children in Doncaster and the local communities.

A superb new minibus was delivered to the Keepmoat Stadium this afternoon by John and Tina Slater from local company Tini-Wini Entertainment - who have had a small-standing partnership with the Rovers in the Community team.

The minibus will now help the Rovers in the Community team reach areas of the community where previously the team may have struggled.

"It's fantastic news," said a delighted Eric Randerson - the Rovers in the Community manager.

"We've been working towards something like this for a very long time and the scheme has moved on dramatically over the last few years. The next step for us was to get into every school in Doncaster and hopefully this fantastic minibus that we have just got will help us achieve that vision."

"The minibus will hopefully allow us to reach parts of the community that we couldn't before with the standard modes of transport that we had. We have a vision that within the next three years we will visit every school in Doncaster and the minibus is a massive plus in making this happen."

"Tini-Wini Entertainment have been brilliant. We've had a small-standing partnership with them for 12 months now and they have come on board 100% this year and we can't thank them enough. Hopefully it is going to be a partnership that will work well for both parties through the project."

"We can't wait to get the bus moving and get about the community to show everybody what we are all about."

Tina Slater of Tini-Wini Entertainment was also pleased to have provided such an important factor for the Rovers in the Community team's work.

"We was providing entertainment down here at the Keepmoat and also for the Rovers whilst we were at Belle Vue," explains Tina.

"We got speaking to Eric, Richard and the guys and realised just how desperately they needed a minibus. I knew that they had wanted one for some time now and me and John thought that it would be fantastic to give something back to the Community guys."

"It's a pleasure to be involved in and seeing the look on the guy's faces - it was definitely worth it."

"The work that the team does is fantastic. It's not just about children who are fantastic in terms of ability in football. It's about children with all abilities in all areas of Doncaster getting involved. The hours that the team put into it too is something to be commended and the fact that more and more children are getting involved every year is brilliant."
